MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS: Appendicitis
MEDICAL SERVICES: ER, X-rays, CT Scans, Labs, Surgery,
Anesthesia, Operating Room, Recovery Room, Pharmacy
MEDICAL INCIDENT:
11:00AM: Arrived at the hospital by Hatzalah.
1:30PM: Test results confirmed an inflamed appendix
and need for an emergency appendectomy.
3:00PM: Surgery began.
4:00PM: Woke up post-operation in the recovery
room and cleared for discharge.
6:30PM: Back home.
BILLED CHARGES: $88,893.21
UNITED REFUAH: I was assigned a case manager who was
helpful, responsive, and assisted me in working with the
hospital and other providers to significantly reduce the billed
charges. United Refuah then promptly shared in their part,
leaving me with only $622.24 out of pocket.
